Valentine’s Day in Warsaw restaurants in 2016

Valentine’s Day is coming. On this occasion Warsaw restaurants have prepared special offers, dishes, tasting menu like every year. Below there is a list of selected restaurants, where you can spend a romantic evening for two. It is worth to make a reservation soon, because on Valentine’s Day usually restaurants are full.

Benihana – Japanese restaurant has prepared for the whole weekend a special Valentine’s Day menu. It features, among others, oysters, shrimp with grilled zucchini and onions, roast beef served with shrimps and rice, heart shaped cheese cake with raspberry mousse. On Saturday and Sunday night live music concerts are scheduled.

Chianti – Italian restaurant on Foksal street on Feb 14th invites for a special Valentine’s Day menu, which features, among others, homemade pasta with Parma ham, rose petals and a touch of truffle, salmon in cream sauce with vegetables and coffee mousse with raspberry sauce

Delikatesy Esencja – during this weekend from 2 pm they serve dishes prepared specially for Valentine’s Day: salmon tartare, polenta with mushrooms, tagliatelle with duck ragout, meringue with cherries and chocolate cream with cointreau. 3-course menu for two persons costs 100 zł.

Dwie Trzecie – this restaurant on Valentine’s weekend has prepared a special tasting menu, Valentine’s Day courses and a selection of wines. The menu will be served from Friday, 6 p.m. There will be two tasting menus to choose as well as possibility of ordering courses à la carte. The Valentine’s Day menu includes, among others, oysters, breast of guinea fowl, octopus on Quinoa. The cost of the menu is 140-180 zł per person.

Elixir (by Dom Wódki) – offers a Valentine’s Day menu consisting of dishes prepared by chef Michael Tkaczyk and dedicated vodkas matched to each course. On this day you will be able to taste the tartar with chilli, ginger or pickled turnip, herring with avocado and pomegranate, cream of kale, turbot with white truffles sauce, duck with cinnamon sauce and meringue for dessert.

Focaccia Ristorante – chef Luke Toczek prepared a special Valentine’s Day menu that will be served at the restaurant on 12-14 of Feb. The 5-course menu features, among others, dishes such as deer / smoked mustard / juniper / poppy or sturgeon / parsley / boletus / buckwheat. The cost per person is 150 zł. iGrek – on 14th February the restaurant is planning a special tasting menu. 3-course menu covers Greek entrees, main course (choice from e.g. roasted octopus, lamb burger or grilled haloumi cheese), and dessert (here to choose between pagoto ice cream, mille feuille or halvah mousse). Price per person is 79 zł.

Kotakota –  on 13th i 14th February Chef Adam Leszczyński invites for his signature menu specially created for Valentine’s Day. Menu features e.g. scallops with dashi and leeks, duck breast with salsify and chocolate or dessert with avocado, mango and sea buckthorn. 4-course dinner costs 120 zł per person.

Kuchnia Otwarta – chef Michał Molenda on 13th and 14th February offers a tasting menu, which contains, among others, halibut marinated in ginger and prosecco with oriental cabbage with truffle sauce or oyster gratin with béchamel sauce and spinach. Price of 5-course menu (including a bottle of prosecco) is 295 zł per pair.

La Brasserie Moderne – from 12th to 14th February restaurant serves a 5-course Valentine’s Day dinner. Price 450 zł per couple includes bottle (375 ml) of champagne. During the dinner there will be the opportunity to win a weekend stay in one of Sofitel hotels in Europe.

Meltemi – on Valentine’s Day Meltemi Greek restaurant serves soup with seafood, fresh mussels in wine with saffron and ginger, skewers of fish and seafood marinated in Greek herbs.

Momu – special menu for Valentine’s will be served on 13th and 14th February and you will find there, among others, panko shrimps with teriyaki sauce and trout rolls served on a purple puree with lemon foam and vegetable tabbouleh. The cost per pair is 130 zł.

Opasły Tom – chef Agata Wojda offers on Valentine’s Day 4- or 6-course tasting menu (respectively 119 zł or 158 zł), which features, among others, baked apple, cauliflower, matias, mousse with avocado; plaice, brussels leaves, sprouts, mushrooms, lemon polenta; lamb with bison grass, mashed beans, kale and sunflower pesto.

Portucale – in Valentine’s Day menu, you will find, among others, Bison carpaccio, fried scallops with baked octopus and grilled prawns, crayfish soup, beef tenderloin with foie gras pate. Price for 4-course menu for two persons with a bottle of wine is 280 zł.

Przystawki  restaurant on 14th Feb offers special Valentine’s courses. On this day you can eat, among others, salmon carpaccion marinated in beet leaves, carrot and ginger cream or yellow curry (with chicken, vegetables or shrimps) with coconut milk, lemongrass and tamarind. During the dinner there will be special BYOB promotion valid until the end of February. If you buy a bottle of wine in the 6WIN shop nearby and order meals for the price of the wine – you can drink this wine onsite without corkage fee.

Signature  chef Wojciech Kilian composed special 6-courses dinner for 13th and 14th February. The menu features smoked haddock mousse with gravlax with ling, razor clams and quail eggs or wild duck fillet marinated in apricot jam. The cost of the dinner is 230 zł per person.

Taverna Patris – on Valentine’s Day restaurant serves dishes with aphrodisiacs and seafood. The menu includes such dishes as seafood soup with lovage, skewers of seafood with tabbouleh or mussels in white wine with lovage.

Temari Sushi Boutique – on Valentine’s Day you can buy a special set for two for the price of 79 zł

UlalaChef – it is not a restaurant but the platform on which you can order a private dinner with the selected chef. On Valentine’s Weekend (12-14 February) they are organizing special dinners in Warsaw and you can take part in a dinner prepared by Lukasz Marcinkowski, Tomasz Janczewski or Rafał Zagajewski. The cost of dinner per person is 190-230 zł. More information on the menu.

Varso Vie – on the 14th Feb Varso Vie has a double reason to celebrate. On this it is not only Valentine’s Day, but also the first birthday of the restaurant. On the weekend on 13th and 14th February the restaurant offers a special 7-course tasting menu which includes, among others, oysters with lemon dressing, butternut squash cappuccino or saddle of venison with wild mushrooms.
